Job Summary: Provides mammographic imaging and patient care services as per protocol. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Prepares for and assists the physician in mammography procedures.
  • Implements radiation protection and safety standards.
  • Assesses and educates patients according to specific department protocols.
  • Participates in a quality assurance program according to FDA and MQSA regulations.
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocol and image distribution.
  • Maintains adequate supplies for efficient section/department operations.
  • May be required to perform multi-modality exams (DEXA, Breast Ultrasounds) depending on the site specific requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • ARRT Registered Technologist. Additional ARRT certification in Mammography (M) required within 12 months of hire. CPR may be required upon hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
  • 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
