Job Title: Telemetry Tech Objective:
Monitors heart rhythm pattern of patients in hospital to detect abnormal pattern variances by performing the following duties. MUST HAVE BASIC DYSRYTHMIA TRAINING
Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accurately completes paperwork related to Flex monitors Notifys Nurse Manager via verbal communication or PERTS reports with any variation to the Flex Monitor standards. Properly cleans and maintains working use of equipment according to the equipment cleaning standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances. Collaborates with others as needed. Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm. Informs nursing associates immediately of variances to initiate immediate examination of patient. Measures, records, and defines intervals of patient's heart rhythm pattern on graphic tape readout and posts information on patient record. Initials interpetation. Answers inquiries concerning patients from medical staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Conducts shift to shift report regarding status of each patient. Maintains patient folder of rhythm strips with completeness and neatness. Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment in area and reports incidence of technical difficulty to appropriate personnel. ( Biomed and Nurse manager/Director) Carries out work responsibilities according to established telemetry standards. Maintains adequate telemetry supplies on unit. Completes yearly credentialing specific to telemetry technician. Other duties may be assigned. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Demonstrates proper lead placement and attachment to the Telemetry Pack to maintain continuous monitoring. Education and Experience Requirements Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills Required: McKesson Clinicals, Internet email software Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required: CPR Certification Basic Dysrhythmia Certification
