Job Summary: Provides for the care, safety, comfort and privacy of patients based on an individualized / interdisciplinary plan of care.

Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care needs as identified by the interdisciplinary care team.
• Acts as an advocate for promoting patient and staff safety, utilizing established policies and procedures.
• Reports any changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff and/or other members of the health care team.
• May also escort patients to other areas of the hospital.
• May also stock supplies in patient exam rooms.

Requirements:

• Prior nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Requires decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a chaotic environment and take appropriate actions based on individual situations.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
