Job Summary: Provides secretarial support and assists in the coordination of daily operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes information, requests, and questions while adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Schedules new patient/follow up appointments and prepares charts per department policy.
  • Performs patient registration and enters charges.
  • Obtains and tracks insurance authorizations and referrals.
  • Manages mail/faxes, prepares routine business correspondence and maintains systematic filing procedures.

Requirements:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and take appropriate actions.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
  • 2 years secretarial or clerical support experience in a medical office setting preferred. Experience with multiple computer software programs required. Experience with medical terminology preferred.
