Duties and Responsibilities       

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedules out-patient tests/procedures from physician offices, patients and SVHC departments.
  • Performs accurate computer entry of demographics, physician name, location when indicated and test ordered.
  • Identifies and questions obvious errors in ordered exams.
  • Offers next available time between HC, WC and IC when specific location is not required.
  • Contacts appropriate departments for STAT and next day appointments.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers, interal and external customers.
  • Idenfies self and department when answering the phone.
  • Responds with a courteous manner in all interactions.
  • Uses discretion in challenging situations.
  • Promotes positive attitude among peers.
  • Maintains customer confidentiality.
  • Assist Registration to obtain appropriate information should the patient arrive with an improper order.
  • Monitors all documentation for completeness prior to scheduled exam.
  • Reviews all orders for completeness and accuracy including pre-certs, prescreening for information, medical necessity and pre-tests for the procedure.
  • Contacts physician office for required information when order is incomplete or inaccurate.
  • Reviews the next days schedule for accuracy contacting physician offices for missing orders.
  • Performs effectively jobs as assigned.
  • Performs outbound reminder calls.
  • Reviews faxed orders for completeness and files appropriately.
  • Monitors and completes order facilitator for incoming orders.
  • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills.
  • Prioritizes duties to meet customer and departmental needs, Offers assistance to others when duties become overwhelming.
  • Minimizes personal phone calls.
  • Maintains average call per hour productivity monthly.
  • Effectively utilizes phone system.
  • Demonstrates proficient use of office equipment.
  • Continues to develop professional skills while exhibiting a willingness to adapt to change.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Exhibits respect, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Identifies concerns within the department and offer potential solutions utilizing P=s.
  • Wears and maintains appropriate attire as described by the SVHC dress policy.
  • Arrives to work and is ready to start at beginning of designated shift.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

  • Required: Internet email software, RadNet, Microsoft Windows XP, Order Facilitator
