Position at Allegheny Clinic

                                       Chest and Cardiac Radiologist                   

 

               The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the Allegheny Health Network, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is seeking a new member for the Division of Cardiothoracic Radiology.  Qualifications include certification by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology and completion of fellowship training in the subspecialty; participation in the ABR Maintenance of Certification for Thoracic /Cardiac Radiology or eligibility for such is required.

 

               The successful candidate will participate fully in a busy division which supplies services to four hospitals and three imaging centers. The Division of Cardiothoracic Radiology consists of three chest radiologists.  They provide a wide range of diagnostic services, including plain film, chest CT (with cardiac CT, gated aortic CTA), thoracic PET/CT imaging, and chest MR imaging (including cardiac MRI).   Procedures performed include lung biopsies, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, and radiofrequency ablation.  A physician’s assistant and resident(s) will assist with clinical care and procedures. Opportunities to practice body imaging and general radiology are also available.

 

               Equipment includes thirteen CT scanners, including a 64 slice dual source CT, 128-slice CT, multiple 64 slice CTs, dedicated procedure CTs, and 16-slice PET CT; computed and digital radiography; and nine 1.5 Tesla magnets.

 

               The faculty supports a complement of 26 residents. The successful candidate will also actively participate in the training program in terms of clinical and didactic teaching to the residents and medical students.

 

               As a campus of Temple University School of Medicine, academic appointment to the Faculty of TUSOM is available.

 

               The physician will be employed by the Allegheny Clinic of the Allegheny Health Network.
