Job Summary: Responsible for the day to day operations of the laboratory including work assignments, work flow, staff scheduling and competency, oversight of equipment availability and maintenance, protocol and procedure development and establishing and monitoring laboratory QA and compliance with ICAEL and other regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Functions in a supervisory role and assumes overall responsibility for the operations of the laboratory including addressing any issues or problems that affect the ability of staff to perform high quality studies with efficiency.
- Maintains clinical competence and performs cardiac imaging studies.
- Participates in the selection and development of staff ensuring competency and holding staff to high standards of performance.
- Ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory policies and procedures. Establishes and monitors service and quality measures.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(S).
- Requires critical thinking skills, excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
- 5 years experience in cardiac ultrasound imaging. Prior management experience preferred.
