Job Summary: Designs, develops, implements, supports, and optimizes architecture strategy to meet business capabilities and needs.  The BI Architect Ensures completeness of BI and analytics architecture by adequately addressing all the pertinent requirements of projects requested by our stakeholders. Ensures integrity of architecture by reviewing all solutions current and proposed to make certain there is no conflict or redundancy. Considers practicality and fitness for purpose in determining architecture to develop. Leverages business and technology knowledge to enable and/or alter business processes, practices, and systems. Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and best in class trends and practices. May take on the role of project leader for special assignments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic consultation to business customers in defining or designing business processes and functions, as well as in researching and internally marketing technologies based on customer capability requirements. Facilitate development of enterprise Business Intelligence solutions that combine knowledge of particular business processes and issues, AHN’s Technology stack, and process facilitation techniques. Participates in enterprise technology strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development.
  • Specifies and designs large, complex ETL systems, BI solutions, and development processes. Selects appropriate design standards, methods, and tools. Reviews others' system design to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology. Establishes policy for selection of architecture components. Evaluates and undertakes impact analysis on major design options. Ensures that the system architecture balances functional, service quality, and systems management requirements.
  • Uses appropriate tools, including models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of architectures. Produces detailed component requirements and specifications and translates these into detailed solutions for implementation. Provides advice on technical aspects of system development, integration, and processes. Ensures that relevant technical and business strategies and policies are applied correctly.
  • Selects and uses tools and methods to establish and communicate the requirements of system users, their characteristics, and tasks. Identifies the technical, organizational, and physical environment in which complex products will operate. Proposes and leads improvement programs, taking responsibility for the quality and appropriateness of the work performed and the realization of measurable business benefits. Modifies and improves upon process improvement approaches.
  • Ensures the resolution of a variety of architecture and business problems and serves as a lead for highly complex business initiatives.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of technical aspects and provides expert advice regarding their application.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to peers, developers, management, and business partners using technical expertise and training. Ensures that all applicable best practices are implemented and followed.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and at least six years of relevant subject matter experience; or High School diploma/Associate's degree and at least ten years of relevant subject matter experience
