Job Summary: Performs Phlebotomy using standard techniques for venipunctures, heel sticks and fingersticks.
Responsibilities:
- Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and within expected timeframes.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
- Performs laboratory support duties to ensure efficient operations such as specimen receiving.
Requirements:
- Phlebotomy training, required.
- Certification as a phlebotomist preferred. May also require valid driver's license.
- Requires decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Drivers license is required.
