Job Summary: Performs Phlebotomy using standard techniques for venipunctures, heel sticks and fingersticks.

Responsibilities:

• Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and within expected timeframes.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties to ensure efficient operations such as specimen receiving.

Requirements:

• Phlebotomy training, required.
• Certification as a phlebotomist preferred. May also require valid driver's license.
• Requires decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Drivers license is required.
