Job Summary:

Coordinates, directs and oversees the day-to-day operational activities and functions within the Materials Management Area to meet the supply needs of the Hospital; maintains a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by responding in a pro-active manner to customer/staff/vendor inquiries.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates staff and available resources consistent with organizational policies, procedures and standards, audit and regulatory requirements and sound business practice.
  • Develops and maintains a positive, professional relationship with department staff, customers and support departments to ensure open lines of communication; understands customer needs, identifies and resolves issues, performs customer in-service, education, and improvement planning.
  • Staff development.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the hospital as well as regulatory bodies.
  • Processes customer inquiries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years materials management experience; a thorough knowledge of supply chain principles, warehousing and inventory control; high degree of problem solving and decision making skills; strong organizational skills needed to maintain working relationships with both internal and external departments/customers at all levels required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving problems/issues/concerns & taking necessary steps to remedy day-to-day occurrences.
  • This position has delegated responsibility & may take whatever action deemed necessary, & may initiate & carry out the action, but is required to inform mgmt when action taken is significant or not defined by established procedures.
  • Position has a direct impact on, but shares accountability for, end results as they relate to specific objectives jointly established with management.
  • Supervision is available to handle unusual situations.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
