Pay Grade: Hoursly rate is starting rate (based on experience) plus a $3.00/hr differential while working in the Float Pool.
The Allegheny Health Network is currently seeking dynamic full time Patient Information Associates to join the Patient Information Associate Float Pool. The ideal candidates will be able and willing to travel to various locations on an as needed basis to assist different offices with front office duties.

Job Summary:
Performs all components of the registration process for physician practice(s)
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs department check-in/check-out procedures, including cash collections, reconciliation, obtaining authorizations, referrals and obtaining required regulatory documentation.
- Explains financial requirements to patients/guarantors.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Conducts patient interview, pre-registers/registers, collects demographic and financial data. Conducts follow up as necessary.
- Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, takes messages, and routes calls to the appropriate parties.
- Utilizes various software and online verification systems for screening and to obtain authorization and referrals and required regulatory documentation. Completes documentation according to all regulatory agencies, including HIPAA.
- Performs clerical and administrative functions such as preparation of correspondence, filing, sorting mail, data entry, faxing, and copying.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to orienting new employees.
- May require travel to various satellite offices to support physician(s).
Job Requirements:
- Reliable transportation required with the ability to travel to various locations per week on an as needed basis
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and take appropriate actions.
- 1 year experience in medical registration, billing, or other related experience preferred.
