Patient Care Assistant -Part Time, Second Shift- Radiology
PCA (Radiology) 2nd Shift and weekend rotation
OBJECTIVE: Cares for patients in Radiology under the direction of Radiology Director and Manager with direct supervision by Radiology nursing personnel and/or radiologic technologists. PCA will float to Emergency Department on 2nd and 3rd shift with matrix supervision provided by Emergency Department nursing personnel. Competency requirements focus on patient care, continuing developement and unit responsibilities and performance of the following duties.
REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Preferred: Nurse Aide Certification Required: Graduate from Nurse Aide training program, CPR CertificationAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Able to work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES Receives patients from other services and accepts and documents hand off data. Accurately takes and records temperature, bood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, food and fluid intake and output. Initiates appropriate response/care based on the patients vital signs. Responds to requests for assistance by department personnel. Assists in the admitting, transferring and discharge process per department procedure. Changes patient clothes and linens.
