Services include cancer diagnosis and treatment, cardiovascular care, neurological and neurosurgical services, organ transplantation, orthopedic and rehabilitation services, and women’s health.
Job Summary: Performs prescribed special procedures such as : interventional, diagnostic and therapeutic angiography and related special procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Positions patients, selects anatomical and technical parameters accurately for independent imaging of special procedures per established protocol. Prepares for and assists the physician and/or physician assistant while performing procedures.
- Implements radiation protection and patient safety standards.
- Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols and image distribution.
- Prepares contrast media, practices aseptic technique pre-, during, and post- special procedures.
- Maintains adequate supplies for efficient section/department operations. Participates in inventory control and monitoring.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- ARRT certification required; Advanced certification preferred and may be required within 12 months of hire. Current CPR certification required upon hire.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
- 1 year experience as a radiologic technologist required. Previous special procedure experience preferred.
