The Department of Neurology at Allegheny General Hospital is dedicated to the care of patients with neurological disorders, as well as education and research in neurology. Our patients benefit from advanced clinical and laboratory research, and can participate in proven and experimental clinical studies for treatment and prevention of neurological diseases.
The neurologists in the Department of Neurology are at the forefront of research and treatment of a myriad of neurological disorders including epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular disorders, neuro-immunology, and stroke. All subspecialties have fellowship trained neurologists in their respective areas. Our neurologists are evaluating new therapies in the treatment of stroke and concussion. The Department has the largest movement disorder program in Pittsburgh and one of the largest multiple sclerosis and neuromuscular treatment services in the region. At the center of the Department of Neurology is the focus on providing the highest quality care to patients and their families.
