Job Summary: Prioritizes and communicates all phone requests and pages using the appropriate devices (dispatch system and/or pagers). Maintains proper phone handling techniques, speaks clearly, completes daily documentation of call tracking, informs supervisor of any issues and assists as back up to other Support Service areas as needed. Transports patients and materials throughout the facility in a safe, efficient manner. Maintains hand washing per hospital protocol, provides service to patients, visitors, care-givers and departments throughout the hospital. Consistently provides quality support for all departmental needs. Serves in front line position greeting and welcoming all customers and patients entering the hospital, including assistance with patient information and providing necessary direction is needed.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Transports patients, equipment and materials, including record rounding, throughout the facility in a timely manner. Assists nursing as a second in transferring patients to and from bed, if needed.
  • Greets and provides assistance, including directions and patient information, to all who enter the facility in a professional, service oriented manner.
  • Adheres to departmental and hospital guidelines regarding assignments, scheduling, hours of work, coordinating hours to census, and service attitude.
  • Responsible for rounding all equipment multiple times per day, including safety checks and cleanliness is maintained at the highest level.
  • Monitors the all departmental calls, requests and reports including but not limited to On Call scheduling, Sunrise, Invision and pager assignment protocol. Enters data into appropriate program logging dispatched calls, pager assignment.
  • Responsible for upholding departmental procedures, turning on the out of office audix message for transport requests at the end of the day and turning off the out of office audix message at the beginning of each day and maintaining proper professional interaction with all personal. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • Customer service experience preferred. Computer knowledge, phone etiquette, and effective service skills. High degree of problem solving and decision making tools; strong organizational skills needed to maintain working relationships with internal and external departments & customers at all levels.
