Job Summary: Plans, organizes, and manages applications and/or technical systems, and maintains information systems designed to facilitate the processing and delivery of information to the Health System.

Job Responsibilities: 

Responsible for the implementation and support of the Epic Application (may include a combination of Epic inpatient documentation, Epic - stork, Epic - ASAP, Epic - OpTime/Anesthesia) throughout the AHN facilities.

Manages the maintenance and support of production systems and the installation of new systems. (45%)

Manages staff effectively to maximize high level of productivity. Recruit, develop and retain staff; provide feedback and conduct staff performance evaluations; determine individual training plans and ensure overall competencies (technical proficiency); and, perform department managerial functions. (40%)

Manages operating budget and project-related expenditures. (10%)

Manages vendor relationships. (5%)

Education: BA/BS Degree in Information Systems, Business, or other related areas or equivalent education / job experience required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Complexity of Work: Regular exercise of sound judgment and initiative required for planning, development, implementation, and management of concurrent projects and systems critical to operational and financial stability. Responsible for identifying and implementing alternatives that may not be governed by established practices/policies.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Required Experience: 

Epic EMR experience preferred or other EMR experience. Healthcare and/or clinical experience a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Effective leadership, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict management skills along with excellent administration, communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to concurrently manage multiple systems and projects.
