Shift: This is a casual position
The hours worked are rotating all shifts and hours as needed. The HOA's work all off shifts and cover the weekends. This person may work anywhere from 8 hours a week to 20 hours a week depending on needs.
Job Summary: Responsible for the provision of quality patient care through the function as administrative liaison between staff, physicians, patient, families, various hospital departments and other outside agencies. Ensures proper staffing across the house to census.
Job Responsibilities:
- Authority and responsibility for administrative decisions during assigned shift. Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures of the facility as well as regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for notification of the AOC (administrator on call), risk management and legal department when appropriate.
- Conducts unit and ED rounds to facilitate patient flow and ensure patient care needs are met.
- Coordinates inter-departmental and intra-departmental activities to resolve patient admission, discharge or transfer problems.
- Oversees the function of patient placement and staffing department during off hours, weekends and holidays.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of quality patient care.
- Functions as a professional resource person to clinical personnel and assists by responding to emergency.
- Responds to care on call, condition help and other issues as requested by clinical personnel or security.
- Investigates patient, family, staff or physician incidents and concerns, takes immediate corrective action and documents findings.
- Initiates corrective action or counseling as appropriate in response to employee violations of policies/procedures related to patient care, staff relations or work rules.
- Participates in performance evaluation of nursing personnel.
Required Experience:
Current PA RN license
BSN required
Five years recent nursing experience required.
Previous management experience preferred.
