Job Summary: Performs ultrasound imaging and patient services as per protocols and/or as directed by physicians. Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Positions patients, selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to independently perform ultrasound imaging. Prepares for and assists physician during ultrasound procedures.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
- Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols, and image distribution. Notifies physician of any complications.
- Maintains adequate supplies for efficient section/department operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS),or ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(S) or registry eligible. Registration required within 12 months of hire. May require RVT Registration or RDMS (Breast) certification based on service area. CPR certification may be required upon hire.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Follows standard procedures using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
- One year of ultrasound experience preferred. One year of OB/GYN ultrasound experience if working breast imaging area required.
