Job Summary: Responsible for technical support to the Department of Radiation Oncology.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality assurance/control evaluations on radiation producing machines.
  • Audits and reviews patient's medical charts.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards.
  • Advise and provide guidance to Dosimetry and Therapy staff and provide consultation services to attending MD.
  • Supervises and provides training to departmental staff in the application of physics.
  • Assists with the delivery of patient care for special procedures.
  • Assists with clinical R&D projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Physics or related field required.
  • Board eligible or certified by either ABR or ABMP in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised. Must be able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and take appropriate action.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
  • 3 years experience as a practicing Radiation Therapy Physicist preferred.
