Job Summary:
Research Fellow is a full-time temporary advanced scholarly appointment (not to exceed five years) to conduct advanced independent and/or directed research programs. The research fellow will conduct translational research projects at the direction of the principal investigator or program director. The role of a research fellow requires detailed knowledge of a technical field, process, or discipline. Work shall include developing, implementing, and executing research plans, data collection and analysis as well as documenting research findings in concise yet complete technical reports. A research fellow must be able to rapidly identify trends in data or shortcomings in experimental design, so that random adjustments may be made without the direct daily supervision of a principal investigator.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct high fidelity experimentation in line with the objectives of the research program.
- Collect and analyze data from the literature and from ongoing experimentation to support hypotheses.
- Participate in writing research publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
- Aid the investigator in managing research staff and maintaining research facilities on an as-needed basis.
- Other duties as assigned, including representing the lead investigator at scientific conferences and meetings.
Qualifications:
- Typically, research fellows have an advanced degree
- Research fellows typically have not had more than one post-graduate employment position in the US prior to taking such a role.
