Job Summary: Provides day to day supervision and direction for the clinical staff.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises staff, evaluates work, and recommends and implements approved disciplinary action.
  • Promotes a professional work environment through sound management principles and leadership skills.
  • Promotes cooperative problem solving, appropriate delegation, and the building of team spirit through individual counseling, and assumes responsibility for own professional development.
  • Ensures cost effective operations by scrutinizing resource utilization such as scheduling practices, payroll, and inventory control.
  • Pursues continuous performance improvement by monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of care, and ensures compliance of regulatory standards.
Education:
  • BSN Degree required.
  • Completion of Bachelor's degree within allotted timeframe is required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business, or related field is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current PA RN license required
  • Certification in area of specialty required. Completion of specialty certification required within one year.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must be able to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, and take appropriate actions. Ability to prioritize patient and department needs, and supervise unit operation and personnel. Ability to utilize resources for problem resolution
  • Follows Standard Precautions and/or other appropriate precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment:

Required Experience:
Three years relevant RN experience preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
