(Junior) Data Engineer (f/m)
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Engineer to join the team establishing a new modern Big Data platform implementing state of the art technologies to meet the ever demanding analytics needs of Home24. The role will initially be supporting our current enterprise Data Warehouse running on the Microsoft BI stack but would eventually develop into transitioning to the unified Big Data Platform team. We’re looking for motivated and ambitious individuals to join our talented team who are self-starters, driven, bold and who are excited about exploiting emerging technologies to enable our business to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders, business analysts and other data engineers to implement new requirements
- Support the existing enterprise Data Warehouse including troubleshooting and maintenance of production and staging environments
- Implement data pipelines
- Develop validation frameworks, proactive monitoring solutions to detect any abnormalities in a proactive manner
- Ensure code is of high quality
- Get document work done to enable knowledge sharing
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or any relevant field or solid hands-on experience in data engineering
- Experience with SQL development
- An understanding of Data warehousing methodologies
- At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft SSIS (Integration Services) and SSAS (Analytical Services). MDX knowledge is a plus
- Good programming skills, preferably Scala, Java or Python is a plus
- A passion for and an understanding of emerging Big Data frameworks and tools
- Willingness to learn and transition to development on big data platform
