Overview of job
The Performance Analyst will manage organic and paid search campaigns across a range of small to medium sized client accounts, and identify opportunities in tandem with the wider agency team.
They will support the Performance Manager and Senior Executive to ensure each project follows industry best-practice to foster account growth, challenge client beliefs and incorporate the latest innovations in Performance.
Reporting of the role
This role reports to the Senior Performance Executive in Brisbane, while working closely with the Performance Manager and the Managing Director in Brisbane.

Measures of success:
In three months:
- Become familiar with MEC’s performance proposition and processes (optimisation, reporting and billing).
- Worked closely with the Senior Performance Executive to develop paid search and SEO strategies.
- Successfully reported on a number of campaigns and garnered insights for key internal and external stakeholders.
In six months:
- Played an active role in forming clients’ SEO and SEM strategies through your recommendations and input.
- Assumed day to day management of small and medium sized search accounts and be comfortable making optimisation where appropriate.
- Begun forming a strong client relationship and positioning yourself as a trusted specialist.
In 12 months:
- Been confidently running small and mid-tier client accounts independently, and have made a measurable impact to our client’s campaign performance, and met client KPIs.
- Developed relationships with internal digital teams and started contributing to responses to client briefs.
- Built strong and respected relationships with clients and become comfortable liaising with them on recommendations and projects.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Oversee the day to day management and optimisation of a number of small to medium sized SEO and SEM clients.
- Devise tests, analyse performance and conclude to produce an enhanced end product.
- Ensure MEC financial process is followed in terms of client set-up and invoicing.
- Ensure efficiencies are made by the proper use of purchased and free tools.
- Manage approved client budgets, ensure client spend matches the MBA, and maximise clients’ return on investment.
- Oversee the production of weekly, monthly and ad-hoc client reporting to demonstrate insight and added value.
What you will need:
- Experience or demonstrated interest in SEO, SEM or digital marketing, preferably in an agency environment.
- While not essential, proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CMS systems, Search Console, WordPress, or Google Analytics will be highly regarded.
- A degree in advertising, marketing, communications or information technology.
- Willingness to learn and try new things
- Excel to an intermediate level (vLook Ups, Pivot Tables, IF functions)
- Demonstrate a high-level of initiative and resourcefulness
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with strong presentation skills.
- Attention to detail with high levels of accuracy.
