Overview of job
Xaxis is actively looking for a Director of Digital Technical Planning. You should have cursory knowledge of publisher-side technologies (ad servers, SSPs, etc), a strong technical background, and stellar customer service/communication skills in order to help Xaxis build and scale our proprietary marketplace of media across display, video and mobile inventory. To manage and grow cross channel publisher relationships in China.
You will have a strong operational skillset and proven experience managing inventory and strategic relationships at ad networks, SSPs, or other ad tech companies. You should be able to translate technical concepts into actionable tactical and strategic insights and communicate them to our internal operation teams as well as the publisher’s ad ops team. You should have the ability to work in systems on the publisher side. Creative problem-solving skills, flexibility and persistence in working with others (including non-techies) are key in this role.

This role reports to the Head of Xaxis.

Measures of success –
In three months:
- You will be able to articulate the vision of Xaxis, its suite of product and its capabilities confidently. You will have gained insight into how Xaxis offerings are positioned in the larger advertising marketplace.
- A deep understanding of Xaxis’ proprietary platforms and technologies along with a good understanding of key partner capabilities and the ecosystem.
- Create detailed business cases, specifications and maintain an active product roadmap to achieve both short and long-term strategic objectives.
In six months:
- Champion client needs; ideate and push forward feature enhancements and software development that further support clients business.
- Own product commercialization plan, go-to-market strategies for performance product offerings along with associated packaging and pricing, service level agreements etc
In 12 months:
- Drive efforts to evaluate application solutions, conduct supporting research in build vs. buy evaluations, and assess partnerships to achieve business goals.
- Identify inefficiencies in processes and propose plans to streamline operations and lower costs without compromising the health of the business.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Ensure that ‘business agreements’ driven by our Platform and Trading teams are executed upon through our supply side technology stack
- Act in a consultative role to educate publishers on software, best practices during initial implementation of software and throughout lifetime of customer
- Support our Publisher Services team to onboard publishers, troubleshoot technical issues and manage all tagging
- A true love for troubleshooting and a ‘roll up the sleeves’ attitude
- Ability to manage and develop a technical support team who will aid in executing media partnerships
What you will need:
- 5+ years of experience in online media negotiation and integration preferred
- 5+ years of experience in ad technology and project management preferred
- Strong understanding of online marketing and web metrics
- Prior experience with DSPs, SSPs, agencies and/or trading desks
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
- Proven ability to lead large projects from concept to fruition
- Ability to interact with senior management and clients, understand corporate strategy, and present actionable findings
- Experience in SaaS platforms would be a plus
- Knowledge of database design, applications, and data flows would be a plus
- Knowledge of current ad serving technologies, ad network models, yield optimization ad technologies, HTML, JavaScript, etc. would be a plus
