Overview of job
As Partner, Client Leadership, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the brand, setting the strategic campaign agenda, ensuring best in class media thinking and media innovation for a global sports brand client. You will lead an integrated team of 12-15 assigned to the account to design, negotiate, purchase, and execute campaigns. You will be partnered with a partner leading on operations, enabling you to focus on the strategic side of account leadership.

In three months:
- Win the trust of the client as a strategic leader who is able to drive the agenda & vision on the account. This is measured in our once in 3 month client surveys.
- Have an informed and knowledgeable strategic POV always
- Be seen as a creative force who is able to tell stories with media. Be able to make ideas BIG!
- To be able manage the team in terms of setting the strategy and constantly driving innovative media thinking.
- To sum up … make an impression. The worst result on this client is to go a 100 days and the client say “Am yet to make up my mind about this guy”
In six months:
- Designing strategies that are innovative and genuinely connect with consumers. Strategically leading Nike and partner agencies.
- To lead quarterly senior management media strategy sessions with the client, setting the vision for the future
- To execute “media first” innovations and be able to submit strong award entries.
In twelve months:
- Viewed by senior management (client and agency side) as the strategic thought leader. Influence the agency internally as well as client side.
- Regularly landing media innovation, winning awards, and growing revenue.
- Strategy: Creating compelling campaign & brand strategies based on consumer & brand insights, as well as media behaviour
- Storytelling: Able to create campaign stories with media campaigns (similar to creative agency planners)
- Innovation: Able to shape media innovation & media ideas (make ideas BIG)
- PPT design: Be able to create good looking presentations
- Presenting: Confidently present and participate in client meetings in English, both having and articulating a clear POV. Be able to sell in strategies.
- Insights: Work on insight projects
- Leadership & Teamwork: Be able to lead a team of media planners & specialist divisions (e.g. content department). Be able to work alongside partner creative agencies to shape campaigns and innovation
What you will need:
- STRATEGIC PLANNING EXPERIENCE: You are strategically minded and have past strategy planning experience (either creative agency or media agency). At least 9 years work experience in the industry. Specifically we are looking for a strategy planner who is good at storytelling and innovation (not analyzing numbers or business planning!)
- ACCOUNT LEADERSHIP: You have past experience of strategically leading clients and running teams.
- INSIGHTFUL: You’re good at identifying insights
- INNOVATION: You are an innovative comms strategy thinker who can shape ideas. Preferably you have worked on innovative clients in the past.
- PASSIONATE: You are a passionate and articulate individual who has strong selling skills
- PERSUASIVE COMMUNICATOR: You have good communication skills both in English and Chinese, but for the right candidate we will work with just English. You’re good at presenting strategic thinking and persuading clients/agencies of your POV.
