Overview of job
This is a key position in our team as a GL accounting supervisor in managing GL team to ensure all GL related issues are timely response and to develop an efficient team

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the finance manager and finance director.

Measures of success –
In three months:

  • You need to adapt to the company culture and workflow of GroupM.
  • You need to have good communication between the team and other business functions.
  • You should act as be a good team player in SSC to support other teams as well as handling other ah-hoc issues.
  • You need to take initiation in supervising the team and ensure all the closing actions are timely delivered without delay.

In six months:

  • You need to act as a positive image in the team and provide instruction to improve the team’s efficiency.
  • You need to help in developing and implementing procedures and policies to ensure the accurate of accounting booking.
  • You need to handle ad-hoc assignment without scarifying the quality. 

In 12 months:

  • You need to work out a standardize team and work with the team to realize the continuous improvement in accounting and reporting cycle.
  • You need well manage the GL team and to reduce the work over time by standardizing the workflow;
  • You need to support the team as develop a strong business sense in providing business insight for GL part.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • GL
  1. Daily routine GL accounting and voucher input including in-house payment, reimbursement, accruals, intercom statement and settlement, salary and etc.;
  2. Daily fixed assets management, and monthly Capex report, and Yearly FA physical counting
  3. Mange all intercom accounts are settled within requested timeline and co-ordinate I/C balance variance;
  4. Bi-weekly cash flow forecast for GL part;
  5. Lead GL team to complete the monthly closing within deadline and ensure the accounting treatment is align with the PRC GAAP;
  6. Initiative and review on balance sheet account reconciliation;
  7. Assist in standardize the workflow to reduce the work overtime and improve the efficiency;
  8. Other ac-hoc issues per requested from management.
  • Budgeting
  1. Help in preparing quarterly budget, phasing and gather information trace any significant variance with reasonable explanation;
  2. Manage the CAPEX and other operating expenses within budget.
  • Audit support
  1. Prepare the SOX requested list and prepare the answers for Auditors quires;
  2. Ensure the GL related work is line with the internal audit standard;
  3. Check and provide reconciliation for the audit adjustment.
  • Others
  1. System improvement supervision and supporting;
  2. Support on ad-hoc issues. 


What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with solid accounting skills;
  • Good sense in statistic and analysis;
  • Strong communication skill and leadership, carefulness, quick response, open-minded and can be work under pressure;
  • Action oriented and able to initiate changes;
  • Good understanding in 4A finance process and SSC process;
  • Good command in spoken and written English and CET 4 and above is required;
  • Proficiency in MS office, especially for WORD and EXCEL;
  • Experiences in Big 4 CPA firm and male are preferable;
  • Professional in 4A or related industry of 3-5 years in GL, candidates with less experience but have exceptional performance can also be considered.
