Business Director - Performance & Business Development
Description
Your key responsibility in this role is to provide strategic leadership for the agency across all areas of performance business development, including audience targeting, programmatic / PBU development, e-commerce, SEM/SEO and mobile. You will directly lead many of our Performance focused clients while also supporting MEC account leaders to develop Performance business for brands such as Mercedes-Benz, CHANEL, Colgate and Danone.
You will help drive new business and scope through two major areas – accelerating the agency’s Performance offer in product and packaging, and expanding new business and/or project growth by establishing quality delivery at the very beginning of a trusted agency/client partnership.

- Autonomy to explore and define best agency products fitting clients’ business needs – GroupM has supporting units in programmatic (Xaxis & PBU), mobile and e-commerce (from paid advertising to store operation management, etc.), while MEC management team will offer full backing and support to develop your ideas.

Measures of success –
In 3 months:
- Worked with client and specialist teams at MEC to understand our business and work practice
- Familiarized yourself with all products and capabilities directly relevant to the role
- Defined the agency’s Performance needs and roadmap for development of products and business
- Identified 3 prioritised scope development areas amongst existing clients to drive business growth
In 6 months:
- Established yourself internally and externally as agency expert in performance marketing
- Established yourself as strategic client leader for Performance-led client portfolio
- Led/supported to bring in 3 new Performance-led client assignments
- Worked with GroupM to establish a product development pipeline to meet MEC needs
In 12 months:
- Helped tripled our agency revenue in Performance sector
- Supported doubling the number of people within the Performance team
- Won 2 industry awards in Performance sector
- Made significant contribution to our THRIVE culture by helping grow and develop the team through your strategic leadership
