Data Visualization Manager
Description
You will lead the design, build and update of interactive dashboards to help Agencies and clients visualize and/or explore interesting audience segments, media behaviour and analytical results. You will be a master at visualizing complex data using a variety of 3rd party and open source tools connected to our proprietary Data & Analytics Platform.
Reporting of the role
This role reports into a senior Data & Analytics lead globally and regionally.

Measures of success –
In three months, you would have:
- Gained a thorough understanding of the Live Audience data platform (a proprietary GroupM Data & Analytics product).
- Worked closely with the Client Business Lead and other members of the team to define the data visualization requirements for a client engagement.
- Familiarised with the tool/s and platform in order to build a client dashboard.
In six months, you would have:
- Successfully delivered a set of key visualizations tailored to the Agency and client use case.
- Suggested new visualization techniques and/or dashboards to enhance the dashboard product offering.
- Developed a long term plan to effectively maintain and refresh the Live Audience data visualization aligned to expectations.
In 12 months, you would have:
- Become the local expert on Live Audience data visualization.
- Effectively collaborated with the local Agencies to design data visualization for other client engagement opportunities.
- Proactively explored new data visualization tools and techniques in collaboration with the wider global Data & Analytics team.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Be the go-to person in China for Live Audience data visualization.
- Lead and own the client dashboard build, maintenance, data updates and quality checks.
- Coordinate with a global team to re-use/adapt and/or develop dashboards for data visualization.
- Execute necessary queries on the platform to build datasets needed for the dashboards.
- Work closely with the Attribution team to plan, deliver and present the results based on agreed objectives.
- Run workshops with Agency teams and clients (when necessary) to introduce Live Audience data visualization / dashboards to clarify objectives and requirements.
- Establish an efficient process with the help of the global Data & Analytics team to deliver Live Audience data visualization to Agencies in China.
What you will need:
- A good degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering.
- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in data visualization
- Knowledge of key visualization and reporting solutions such as Tableau, QlikView, Omniscope or MicroStrategy
- Some knowledge of data manipulation tools (e.g. R, Python, SAS, etc.)
- Experience with open source visualization technologies such as Java, D3 and R and how to operationalize client facing solutions based on these frameworks.
- Formal training in related topics such UX design and/or web design is welcome but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends.
- Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-cultural business partners and stakeholders, and strong team player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin.
