Overview of job

You will run a product delivery team that builds one of the media systems that automate the core business across several APAC markets.                                                                               

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Media System Director, APAC.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Understand the operational aspect of running the delivery team to deliver on time and within budget and build up serviceable domain knowledge to understand the business requirements
  • Be responsible for the finances and staffing
  • Actively contribute toward product design and solution discussions

In six months:

  • Adapt the product roadmap to changing business requirements
  • Actively contribute towards product solution and design discussions
  • Take a strategic view toward continuous improvement of the media system

In 12 months:

  • Understand the business domain with significant detail and the role of the media system within the overall business workflow
  • Form a strong relationship with business partners to both support and advise them on the media system’s capabilities and limitations
  • Create a product roadmap that reflects business priorities for 2017
Responsibilities of the role:

Product Ownership
  • Gain a deep understanding of the product being managed and identify the product functional gaps and technical debt.
  • Create a roadmap of bespoke product and ensure that the roadmap is created in line with business goals and address non-functional requirements
Team Management
  • Keep track of staffing and overhead budget of the team on a weekly basis
  • Manage vendor to ensure that team is optimally staffed with the proper skillsets
  • Build a cohesive and positive culture within the team
Feature Delivery
  • Ensure that deliverables meet business needs by validating requirements, design and conducting demos for business partners
  • Ensure that the delivery teams are adequately trained in terms of business domain knowledge to perform their tasks
Continuous Improvement

Continuously strive to improve the delivery process through multiple avenues
  • Agile methodology adoption

  • QA / Release management
  • Task automation
  • Documentation

What you will need:

  • At least 7 years experience in a software engineering role
  • At least 2 years experience as a development team lead
  • At least 2 years experience writing T-SQL queries
  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC, .NET Windows Forms
  • Experience with structured release management processes
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management tools such as TFS
  • Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture, WSDL, REST
  • Familiarity with common design patterns
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX
  • Fluent communication in English
  • Ability to cater for light amounts of international travel
