Overview of job
Maxus is seeking the role of a digital manager to provide key digital support to the Account Leader in Hong Kong on global and regional accounts, covering strategy formulation and plan implementation.
Reporting of the role
This role reports to the Global Client Partner.

Measures of success –
In three months:
- Be up to speed with client’s portfolios / value proposition and able to articulate this confidently.
- Familiar with all functions in GroupM and well organized the daily routine.
In six months:
- Be well recognized by key clients by demonstrating the digital leadership in terms of strategic planning, implementation etc.
- Aligned key stakeholders internally and at client’s side on Digital strategy for each brands.
- Be the person whom the client goes to for day-to-day digital insight and activities. Begin to propose ideas and activities to answer identified challenge.
In 12 months :
- Taken solid ownership of the digital product and built an understanding of how this can best benefit your clients in conjunction with the other media division experts you partner with.
- Build strong relationships with the key decision makers at client side and within the company.
Responsibilities of the role:
Client Management & strategy:
- Be a key digital contact for global/regional Ensure that clients are regularly educated on the digital landscape, any relevant digital trends that might affect their business and cross media planning and digital integration
- Development of digital strategy as part of a wider campaign (for cross media campaigns) or in digital only activities
- Effective use of industry planning tools – working together with strategy and the account team on strategy documents.
- Development of plans based on the digital strategy
Campaign Management
- Ensuring delivery of clients’ implementation plans on time where possible but also managing client expectations by pushing back on unrealistic expectations where appropriate.
- Taking part in rate negotiation for campaign activity (in support of existing client or GroupM trading agreements).
- Overseeing of the delivery of campaign implementation and financial/administrative tasks (see below)
Work in conjunction with and supervise junior team members (cross-media) to ensure the following tasks are completed:
- Accurate entry of all bookings onto the online booking system (metis &/or DDS).
- Accurate completion of all campaign trafficking requirements for any digital display activity.
- Accurate completion of campaign reporting and analysis (daily/weekly/monthly).
- Accurate implementation of campaign daily/weekly/monthly optimization.
- Contribution to the accurate supply of creative assets from appointed partner agencies.
- Contribution to the completion of campaign analysis and insight.
- Working closely with other planning team members to ensure campaign alignment.
- Contribute to the post campaign analysis for cross media campaigns or preparing the same for digital only campaigns
- Accurate completion of campaign reconciliation.
Work with junior team members and admin support in the area of operations & finance to ensure following tasks are completed:
- Help create appropriate workflows & finance structures created.
- Entry in to Huawei finance procurement tool for all media approvals and bookings completed
- PO release management.
- Budgeting & oversight of media campaigns & spend.
- Auditing tasks when needed
What you will need
- Minimum 3 years in digital media
- Autonomy and initiative - to be able to assume responsibility for all digital work in the team
- Manage close working relationship with day-to-day clients and teams and global digital media owners.
- To be able to confidently and clearly present work to the client, verbally and in document form, managing the clients’ expectations and enhancing their view of Maxus.
- Commercial acumen - consider and implement ways of generating incremental income for the agency.
- Strong familiarity with digital strategy, metrics and data fluency.
- Hands-on experience in display advertising (desktop and mobile), social media and SEM
- Fluency in English and Chinese (esp. Putonghua)
- Analytical and creative thinking.
- Highly organized
- Extremely competent with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
