Overview of job

MediaCom is looking for an experienced Content and Connections Manager to lead award winning brands in the FMCG category.

As part of a planning team you will be responsible for your own set of FMCG brands within a category, leading both communications and brand growth strategy.

As the main account contact you will be responsible for leading and fostering the day to day relationship with the client.

Working closely on both the planning and implementation, we are looking for someone with a comprehensive understanding of media buying metrics and delivery within offline and online channels.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Planning Director.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of your dedicated client portfolio’s business, marketing objectives and challenges
  • Settled into the agency developing strong relationship with in the team

In six months:

  • Established relationship with Marketing and Brand Manager resources on the dedicated client portfolio
  • Collaborates with implementation teams to produce media solutions with supporting documentation and rationale that delivers on brand growth and FMCG principles
  • Strong understanding of appropriate MediaCom tools and systems

In 12 months:

  • Grow a nurtured and strong relationship across all client contacts
  • Delivered outputs that have grown the clients business

Responsibilities of the role:

People

  • Leads/participates in team WIPs and supports workflow and resource allocation within their team
  • Translates and communicates to appropriate MediaCom departments the client’s needs, briefs and requests
    • Drives collaboration with A&I, Strategy, MBA, I&T, Culture and Insight teams to develop media solutions
  • Attends media owner presentations and industry functions to keep up with the latest trends
  • Attends required training as part of development
  • Ensure regular 121’s take place with your direct reports (monthly minimum)

Product

  • Supporting delivery of communication strategies for clients
  • Ensures 20|20 connections planning process is implemented and actioned within the team
  • Collaborates with A&I teams to deliver cost effective planning solutions for clients.
  • Supports the delivery of competitive analysis for clients.
  • Ensure team are regularly trained and using all C&C planning tools.

Client

  • Translates and communicates the client’s needs, briefs and requests to external partners
    • Build the strongest and deepest relationships – clients, media (as required)  
  • Builds strong client relationships through best in class servicing
    • Ensures a high level of face to face interaction
  • Supports team with insights into client’s business and category trends
  • Delivers timely and accurate reporting requirements for clients
  • Delivers on client KPI's across all value metrics

 Commercial

  • Keep your timesheet up to date (weekly)
  • Ensure recommendations align to client value KPI’s and deal partners. Liaise closely with trading team to ensure pricing guarantees, and market conditions are considered.
  • Assist the GD in client and team profitability
  • Assist in driving digital growth and GroupM/ MediaCom proprietary products and services.

 What you will need:

  • 4+ years’ experience (1-2 years’ experience in implementation)
    • If no background in implementation will need to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of buying metrics for both offline and online
  • Strong data capability working in excel with sales, penetration and other client metrics
  • Background in FMCG marketing (not essential)
