MEC | Media Investment and Activation Director
Description
MEC are looking for a talent and experienced Investment and Activation Director to join their Sydney office. In this role you will be responsible for leading the investment and activation across your client portfolio, as well as managing and inspiring your team. You will work in partnership with the planning team and media partners to deliver holistic media solutions for your clients.
Reporting of the role
This role reports to the Group Director: Investment & Activation along with Group Business Director

Measures of success –
In three months, you would have:
- Understand the MEC process and way of working whilst immersing yourself in the clients business
- You will have started to build relationships with the key decision makers both internally, with media partners and with clients
- You will be contributing to the Investment & Activation community and cascading your knowledge to the wider team
In six months, you would have:
- The day to day contact for the media manager clients on any investment related issues
- Managing the team and current investment agreements
In 12 months, you would have:
- Leading the Investment team and negotiating on behalf of clients with media owners (with assistance from Sydney Trading Director)
- Working seamlessly with other disciplines within the client team
Responsibilities of the role:
Manages and leads the investment function across all channels
Develops investment and activation strategies to maximise the execution of media plans
Work collaboratively with C&C to ensure that client servicing is first class
Lead the media vendor relationships for all investment and activation
What you will need:
- Complete understanding of the macro trends in the marketplace with regards to revenue, supply, innovation and development
- Good understanding of all media channels and with knowledge of strengths and weaknesses.
- Literate, articulate and numerate
· First class negotiation skills
· Articulate a point of view/opinion on trends/developments in the marketplace - Be able to construct negotiation strategies to deliver on clients objectives
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Demonstrates selling skills with the ability to sell in deals, media plans/initiatives to clients.
- Strong relationships with all senior media vendors (GSMs to Sales Directors)
- Results driven with responsibility for all delivery of all clients results
- Demonstrate leadership skills at all times
