Overview of role
As the head of research and planning the role will be leading a unit that is responsible for analyzing data and developing insights for internal agencies partner as well as clients. The role will be responsible to drive the development of digital marketing research as a form of service or product for clients as well as a tool to support the growth of digital business for GroupM agencies
Reporting of the role
This role reports to the General Manager of GroupM Connect

Measures of success –
In three months:
- Lead and manage the team to deliver timely and good quality reports for clients and agencies
- Develop a plan to achieve your KPI
- Review current data partners/ vendors
- Present reports or insights to clients when needed
In six months:
- Propose or design a report that could answer a brief and bring solutions to client and agencies
- Identify opportunities for the advancement of tools and reporting qualities
- Built good connection with internal and external stakeholders
- Initiate meetings with agency representatives to introduce new service or capabilities
- Educate other parties about digital marketing research and it’s values
- Create a framework of research services that your division can provide
In twelve months:
- Identify business opportunities of digital marketing research
- Structure and manage the team to reach companies business goal
- Set up a vision for the team and established fun and productive team culture
- Oversee and train staff to develop core competencies
- Establish good solid relationship between departments and between agencies
- Establish leadership role in digital marketing research
Responsibilities of the role:
- Assume ownership of the creation, analysis and dissemination of the entire market intelligence information, trends and comparison and be a point of contact within the division
- Identify, develop and drive long-term strategies based on fact-based analyses
- Assume ownership of the division’s business development, identify business opportunities and develop plans to achieve them - related to the division’s role as an independent business unit
- Assume ownership of Digital Market Research initiatives, providing quantitative & qualitative information to identify market opportunities and to drive business decision making
- Determined scope of work for a project and deliverables
- Determined the cost and value for each of product or service
- Provide recommendation and solutions for a research brief
- Create case studies or portfolio that can establish the value of the service
- Design, structure and ensure coordination of a research project
- Provide updates/recommendations to the executive teams
- Support agencies strategic planning process during pitches or annual recommendation with relevant and actionable insights
- Support the development of agencies business through impactful digital market intelligence
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years relevant experience in research industry, qualitative and quantitative / analytical roles such as, but not necessarily limited to, market intelligence, strategy consulting, research and analysis, or market research
- Strong analytical skills and possess a strong ability to turn data into actionable insights
- Have a good understanding of research and statistics
- Have a good understanding of how to develop insights for consumer, trends, industry and competition
- Have a good understanding of the marketing industry
- Able to lead a team or a business unit and work with minimum supervision
- Able to read, write and speak in English effectively
- Able to work in a highly multicultural environment
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
