Associate Planning Director
Description
You will provide with strategic advice in relation to the production of quality media solutions, coach and develop the people in the team and acquisition of client’s recognition.
Reporting of the role
This role reports to the Tactical Planning Director.

Measures of success –
In three months:
- Been up to speed with client’s portfolios / value proposition and able to articulate this confidently
- Started to build relationships with the key decision makers within the current pipeline
- Been familiar with all functions in GroupM and well organized the daily routine
- Been familiar with client’s request and all the working process and reports.
In six months:
- Been well recognized by key clients by demonstrating the leadership in terms of strategic planning, implementation etc.
In 12 months:
- Had a mature pipeline at each stage of opportunity development
- Created some client’s additional demands and get further revenue for MEC
- Improved your team's capability
Responsibilities of the role:
- Work closely with Planning Director/ Business Director to develop each part of the planning process and help sell to the clients.
- Proactive management of clients’ expectations.
- Seek out and exploit opportunities with current clients to strengthen relationship, create new revenue streams and to improve overall rating with clients.
- Ensure all team members to attend and complete all relevant training courses.
- Have regular dialogue with team members to exchange ideas, techniques and issues to encourage greater inter team communication.
- Contact with senior level of direct media owner to facilitate the development of initiatives.
- Build relationships with clients and agency counterparts.
What you will need:
- Be fully conversant with the role within 6 - 8 years
- Excellent grasp of communications strategy with a full understanding of how advertising works and key advertising principles.
- A full understanding of clients’ business, competitors, customers and objectives and a sympathetic incorporation of these considerations into the communications strategy.
- Good organizational skills in handling a number of projects at the same time, being able to set priorities, keep to deadlines, work effectively under time pressure.
- A sound understanding of trading issues and how this impacts on media strategies.
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as strong selling skills.
- A good rapport with colleagues across all divisions, clients, other agencies and media owners.
- Expertise in all relevant industry software and systems.
- Chinese competency is a must (either Mandarin speaking or read/write Chinese if not spoken fluent Mandarin)
