Overview

MEC are looking for a Manager to join their Investment and Activation division. As the I&A Manager, you will be involved in planning and responsible for buying all approved media schedules ensuring that there is efficiency and rigor in the process. We are searching for someone who enjoys trading to join our passionate and friendly team. You will need to be collaborative, inventive and agile.  

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the I&A Director and GBD. The role has two direct reports, I&A Analyst and I&A Executive.

Measures of success 

In three months, you would have:

  • Immersed yourself in the team and Agency with understanding of the status of all active campaigns
  • a strong understanding of processes and have taken a lead role in overseeing day to day processes are being undertaken by junior team members with all deadlines being met
  • taken a leadership role in the day to day buying process
  • been introduced and been involved in campaign planning
  • broadened exposure to all offline media

In six months, you would have:

  • Established a strong working relationship with all team members, whether day to day management of the Executive and Analysis as well as reporting upward to the I&A Director.
  • Taken a lead role in the I&A client relationship on specific clients within the group
  • Taken a lead role in development of media recommendations
  • Been involved in full campaign delivery from brief to post analysis
  • Been a regular key participant in client presentations
  • Played a lead role in client auditing

In 12 months, you would have:

  • Been an integral member of the team having a comprehensive understanding of how the team operates and providing constructive input into the future direction of the team
  • Ensured all campaigns throughout the year have delivered according to parameters, both buys managed by yourself as well as managing the status of buys from the Executive to ensure global auditing is achieved within benchmarks

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Ensuring accuracy across all areas of the role. Financial (Buying, Invoicing), communication (emails, presentations)
  • Primary I&A lead across implementation planning and investment, constantly and proactively providing relevant market intel to client
  • Providing guidance and overseeing the day to day workloads of the Executive and Analyst. Providing ad hoc on-the-job training of both junior roles in systems, tools and general trading techniques as required
  • Ensuring all deadlines are met and clear communication is maintained between direct reports updating on the status of deliverables and whether there are any issues or delays which could impact the successful completion of the task

What you will need: 

  • Minimum 4 years media experience in Investment
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Clear and effective communication skills, whether with colleagues (both senior and junior), clients and media representatives
  • Strong understanding of the Australian media marketplace with good relationships with media owners at minimum Executive to Manager Level
  • Experience managing junior team member/s
  • Experience presenting to clients
  • Excellent knowledge of media systems and tools e.g. BCC, AQX, Roy Morgan, eRAM, eTAM
