Overview of job
GroupM is seeking an experienced finance professional with experience in managing a team of 5 -6 members in leading the full spectrum of finance function (eg: operation, reporting, taxation, governance and compliance, budgeting, forecasting, treasury and commercial). You will also be actively involved in ad-hoc projects including setting up of new business divisions and process flows.

This role reports to the CFO.

  • Contributed to the commercial aspects of our business and able to manage contract commitments and negotiations

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible to lead the full spectrum of the finance function of the media trading division, and a business partner to all other functions within the organization. Heavily involved in projects for new, digital and data business.
  • Lead, manage and control activities of various business functions by providing financial analysis and advice.
  • Responsible for reviewing and providing management and statutory financial reports, forecasts and annual budgets on a timely manner with tight quality control on the deliverables.
  • Perform effective monitoring of all budgeting, taxation, working capital, credit control, commercial, contract compliance matters, and to drive continuous improvement in these areas.
  • Assist commercial/ legal team in drawing up and following up on contracts/ commitments/ compliance (eg commercial terms, pitch exercise, pricing, profitability analysis and reporting).
  • Develop, implement and review efficient and effective accounting and administrational processes, and overall internal controls of the company.
  • Other adhoc projects that will need to be managed from time to time based on business requirements (eg merger and acquisition, tax restructuring, etc).
  • Provide continual support and motivation in managing the finance team members, whether or not reporting directly to this role.

What you will need:

  • Minimum a Degree and Professional Qualification (eg: ACCA, CPA, MICPA etc) in Accountancy or related field, with strong technical foundation, and an active member of MIA.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience, preferably with combination of some external/ internal audit exposure on top of the commercial experience. Must have leadership experience in managing a team and taking full responsibility of their deliverables and career progression.
  • Experience in managing major IT upgrade/ system changeover will be an added advantage.
  • Must be proficient in English and Malay, both written and oral.
  • Computer literate and knowledge in Microsoft Office tools, and apt in learning new applications.
  • Pleasant personality with strong communication skills, and able to work in a team (inside and outside finance function) and bring the team together to deliver. Must be comfortable working in a large MNC environment and dealing with multiple stakeholders locally and internationally.
  • Must be able to work with integrity, initiative and a strong sense to take accountability/ ownership and commitment to deliver.
  • Report directly to the CFO, supervise direct reports of 5-6 team members.
