Overview of job
GroupM is seeking an experienced Digital professional with demonstrated success in Digital trading and a solid knowledge of the digital landscape to manage the supply of digital inventory and manage the data and technology requirements of our agencies across SEA. The role will involve working closely with the APAC Investment Leads, the local GroupM Trading Heads and the local agency Trading and Digital Leads to drive One Voice Trading Strategy across SEA and creating and managing key partnerships and relationships with digital media and ad-technology vendors in the region.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Fahad Bashir, Chief Investment Officer, GroupM Indonesia.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • A good understanding of the One Voice Trading Strategy and the Digital Trading products and pillars in the Group
  • Developed a strong connection & relationship with GMT, Xaxis, Connect and agency personnel across key markets
  • Identified opportunities and areas of focus for 2017 Digital Trading Strategy with some initial recommendations.

In six months:

  • Met all key Regional and Local Media, technology and data providers and be managing our commercial partnerships with these businesses.
  • Having regular dialogue with all key stakeholders internally
  • Started driving and implementing Digital Trading Strategy, including inventory, ad-tech and data.

In 12 months:

  • Created an aggregated supply of inventory for clients, Xaxis, Connect and Light Reaction with preferred supplier management.
  • Solid network of internal relationships with a clear way of working and structure
  • Developed 2-3 new Digital trading
Responsibilities of the role:
Driving One Voice Trading across SEA in Digital
  • Leading our key internal digital product development and roll out – Xaxis, Plista, Light Reaction, Connect, 3rd Party and others
  • Strong and collaborative partnership management with all key inventory, data and ad technology suppliers in SEA and alignment with global/local strategy
  • Identifying and implementing new trading routes to drive value for clients and the Group
  • Education and best practise sharing with all Digital leads and key agency contacts regionally and locally
  • Delivery of all digital trading income targets.
  • Support in New Business pitches with digital pricing templates and responses to digital briefs
  • Benchmarking and evaluating our digital pricing and capability across all markets
  • Developing and ensuring market leading measurement and evaluation of our digital activity through partnerships with the likes of Moat on Brand safety, ad fraud and viewability
  • Regular reporting and analysis to measure our digital growth and performance versus targets with all local markets
  • Identify relevant data partners for the Group to work with across the region
  • Responsibility for articulating a compelling digital trading vision for GroupM.
  • Provide quarterly updates to the CIO – To include new trading products, new opportunities, data and product development and performance versus targets
  • Work with the GroupM CIO to play an active part in the GroupM regional trading community, sharing work
  • Be a public spokesperson on industry issues and become the Digital trading voice of GroupM in the region

What you will need:
The candidate will have 8+ years of relevant digital planning, operations and trading experience. This will ideally have been gained predominately through digital or media agency roles. However the right experience from ad-tech or publisher side is also relevant.

You can clearly demonstrate the following skill sets:

  • Strong and calm under pressure and a good communicator
  • Confident presenting to senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • Effective negotiator and ability to drive successful partnerships with key vendors
  • Strong management experience and skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and people not directly reporting to you
  • Experience driving revenue growth with emerging opportunities and established partnerships
  • Strong understanding of the digital, technology and data trends that are changing the advertising business
  • Understanding of the demand and supply side of digital advertising and programmatic
  • Experience in managing deals with multiple parties using yield management or SSP side integrations
  • Hands on experience in managing programmatic technology stacks on integration with 3rd party data partners, inventory suppliers, verification companies using tag management solutions
  • Excellent numerical analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Strong, hands-on operational experience with a practical approach to media investment management
  • An established track record of public speaking
  • A can do attitude and willingness to get “stuck in” us successful, from writing documents, to meeting clients, to training staff, to visiting vendors etc
  • Demonstrate a high level of flexibility to evolve with the role, market and GroupM business offerings.
