Position at Maxus

Overview 

You will be responsible for overseeing the overall management of the Paid Search and SEO business for your cluster of clients. This includes ensuring the consistent delivery of the Search product, growth of new business as well as the development of your team. This will involve driving best practice for SEM/SEO solutions including tools and processes while ensuring integration and communication with the wider client leadership teams.

This role reports to the Head of Search, Shanghai

In three months, 

  • Been up to speed with client’s portfolios / value proposition and able to articulate this confidently
  • Built relationships across both internal and external stakeholders who will ultimately enable you to excel in your role
  • Identified opportunities to drive best practices in terms of tools adoption and process improvement to positively impact your team

In six months, 

  • Implemented tools and process improvement changes which have increased the efficiencies of the team
  • Identified and action opportunities to grow profitable revenue as well as help structure the team to deliver profitable business in the short, medium and long term
  • Built trust and confidence of key clients by guiding them through the engagement process and actively listening and responding to their queries and concerns
  • For the long-term development of the team, you will coach others by assessing each individual's strengths and areas for development and encouraging a free exchange of constructive feedback
  • Over time you will encourage greater accountability and responsibility on your search manager by pushing down decision-making and avoiding taking charge unless absolutely necessary

 Responsibilities of the role:

  • Financial
  1. Ensure forecast revenue is met and in line
  2. Responsible for effectively managing the search spend as planned by director, client or agency
  • Strategy
  1. Lead the building of the strategy
  • New Business
  1. Lead new business efforts by assisting by preparing proposals, research ,data collection and presentations
  2. Actively participates in organization and development of new business pitches with senior level guidance
  • Client Interaction
  1. Participates in calls and meetings
  2. Develops client interaction agendas and materials as needed
  3. Leads calls when they are relevant to work that has been produced by the Search Manager
  • Management
  1. Manages relationships with vendors on their accounts
  2. Where directed will be responsible for managing search managers to ensure timely and accurate product or results delivery
  3. Provides input for search manager performance reviews
  • Tactical
  1. Maintain knowledge of client's business, competition and latest industry news and trends.
  2. Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate optimizations are occurring to the client's campaign in line with goals & objectives.
  3. Provides direction on keyword development to managers and specialists, who are responsible for drafting initial keyword lists
  4. Reviews keyword list, landing pages, and estimates, finalizes and submits to client for review
  5. Provides direction to managers and specialists for creative development
  6. Reviews creative written by managers and specialists, revises as needed and submits final to client for approval
  7. Provides direction to managers and specialist for trafficking of campaign
  8. Checks to ensure that action tags are in place on site
  9. Checks to ensure that campaign is tracking properly immediately after launching
  10. Works with vendors to set-up accounts in search engines
  11. Checks status of accounts daily
  12. Provides analysis and executive summary for quarterly & annual activity reviews
  13. Provides reporting in PPT format as needed
  14. Submits completed report to Client
  15. Takes client through results on monthly and weekly calls
  16. Implements new testing
  17. Assists in training other employees on manager job duties and processes

What you will need:

  • 5-7 years’ search experience and/or digital experience
  • Preferred degree qualified
  • Excellent track record in dealing with clients and multiple internal stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing (marketplace and consumer)
  • In depth knowledge of competitive SEM companies
  • In depth knowledge of PPC Bid management tools
  • In depth knowledge of SEO tools
  • Excellent understanding of search techniques (research and evaluation)
  • Knowledge of key trends in client and Search market media dynamics
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent client servicing skills
  • Ability to manage workflow effectively both internally and with third parties
  • Strong leadership qualities, both strategic and interpersonal
  • Working knowledge of Google Adwords, Baidu and Bid-management tools.
