Job Overview:

As a Client Leadership Director, you will be responsible for providing leadership, setting the agenda, fostering teamwork, ensuring best in class innovative media thinking and execution for a global sports brand client. You will lead an integrated team of 5 assigned to the account full time, plus a wider team covering all functions, to design, negotiate, purchase, and execute campaigns.

This role reports to Partner, Client Leadership.

The opportunity would be to create your own brand of the most innovative strategic planning and thinking to benefit Mindshare China and your client.
 

Job Success criteria:

After the first 100 days –

Win the trust of the client as leader who is able to drive the agenda set on the account. This is measured in our once in 3 month client surveys.

Have an informed and knowledgeable POV always

To be able manage the team in putting together media plans from detailed spot plans, negotiating media buys to instilling a more creative thinking on how to use certain channels.

Be seen as a strategic and creative force who understands how to make media work in the communications ecosphere.

To sum up … make an impression. The worst result on this client is to go a 100 days and the client say “Am yet to make up my mind about this guy”

Within the first 6 months –

To be able to design strategic communications plans that are innovative and touch a cord with the consumer

To execute “media first” innovations and be able to submit strong award entries.

After 12 months –

Leading the account (client completely on-side), regularly landing innovation, growing revenue

Day to Day Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide insightful and comprehensive communication solutions. Lead strategic planning. Propose media innovation.
  • Confidently present and participate in client meetings in English, both having and articulating a clear POV.
  • Prioritise tasks and appropriately delegate to individual members of the team, ensuring they are given adequate time, resource and are sufficiently trained to execute tasks like reporting: campaign launch, campaign end, monthly & weekly with high quality and consistency.
  • Manage the team day to day acting as a mentor to junior employees, conduct annual and interim appraisals of team members in a thorough and professional manner on or immediately prior to the due date.
  • Continuously work with the clients to arrive at the best process/systems for managing their business, for example, specialist teams/buying dept to promote clients’ interests with strategically important media owners

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Job Skills & Requirements: 

STRATEGIC PLANNING: You are strategically minded, driving X-platform media planning and strategy on accounts in the past 

INNOVATION: You are an innovative media thinker, with past experience of creating award winning campaigns 

DIGITAL: Understanding of digital ecosystems (e.g. programmatic) and comfortable handling data 

MANAGEMENT: You are experienced in managing a team and financials, good at motivating employees, clients and suppliers. 

PASSIONATE: You are a passionate and articulate individual who has strong selling skills 

COMMUNICATOR: You have good communication skills both in English and Chinese, but for the right candidate we will work with just English.
