MediaCom is looking for an outstanding creative problem solver to come and join its expanding Strategic Planning Team. We’re looking for an experienced industry leader to drive the planning product for a number of flagship clients and to help evolve and build the agency’s planning product of tomorrow.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the National Head of Strategy.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Establish the position of lead planning agency for KFC – your key account, adopting a ‘comms-first’ approach to guide other agency partners (creative, digital etc.)
  • Develop the agency’s planning product (20|20 Connections) and ensure that it permeates all corners of the business.

In six months:

  • Demonstrate growth of KFC business linked to communication planning approach
  • Have established a new ‘process’ for KFC communication planning that becomes the agreed dogma


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Excelling at communications strategy on the highest profile projects. Leading development of best-in-class strategic recommendations – a clear and powerful direction for all communications, often to include brand and creative development.
  • Conversant and expert understanding of MediaCom’s 20|20 ‘system-led’ planning framework and its application to strategic thinking.
  • Forge an inspiring relationship with MediaCom Knowledge to uncover unique and powerful data-led & consumer insights.
  • Sell in brave ideas backed up by sound strategic rationale.
  • Ensure developed strategic direction have clear and well-articulated implications for connections and media planning, and have a good working knowledge of channel planning, linked primarily to an understanding of reach.
  • Work collaboratively with MBA (MediaCom Beyond Advertising) to create unique content & social solutions.
  • Collaborate with Senior IP&I members (Implementation Planning & Investment) to ensure the strategic direction works with the channels planned and campaign execution ideas.
  • Play active role in ensuring MediaCom’s research, strategy & planning processes are at the forefront of current thinking – supporting the team in product development.
  • Where needed, drive the development of pitch-winning strategic solutions.
  • Become the go-to person for advice on all strategic questions - a strategic leader among your key stakeholders. 


What you will need:

  • Positive, articulate and an outstanding creative problem solver
  • High level of EQ which allows you to develop strong working relationships within the agency, with other agency partners, the media and importantly senior clients.
  • Minimum 10 years agency experience (media and/or creative)
  • Professional, ambitious and someone keen to develop the agency profile through outstanding work.
