Position at Maxus

You will be the absolute lynchpin of the account team. Taking as much of the day to day detail away from the Director, Managers are central to making campaigns run effectively in order to pave the way for conversation changing work and to the building of strong relationships with clients. This is based on the reassurance that Maxus always delivers the best, most professional service and media planning and buying possible.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Client lead.

Measures of success –

In three months:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of your dedicated client portfolio’s business, marketing objectives and challenges
  • Settled into the agency and established a strong relationship with the team

In six months:

  • Established relationships with Marketing and Brand Manager resources on the dedicated client portfolio.
  • Produced media solutions with supporting documentation and rationale that deliver to the Maxus Planning framework and have full understanding of appropriate Maxus tools and systems
  • Fostered your day to day team (Business Executive and Coordinator) to deliver outputs in line with client expectations
  • Developed relationships with relevant sales partners in order to unlock opportunities for the client portfolio.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial and financial acumen through the management and accuracy of the invoicing across all media touchpoints for the team.
     

In 12 months:

  • Grow and nurtured a strong relationship across all client contacts
  • Fostered the growth and development of your team with evidence of regular feedback and Goal/KPI check ins with direct reports
  • Educate direct reports and foster development
  • Delivered outputs that have grown the client business

Responsibilities of the role:
People

  • Promote open, collaborative, supportive and dynamic relationships throughout the agency and the network
  • Build the strongest and deepest media owner relationships by meeting with them on a monthly basis - not just with sales teams but across all departments to get access to the best ideas, to enable Maxus to transfer strong ideas from one medium to another
  • Manage and develop team members careers through regular coaching and constructive feedback
  • Hold regular performance evaluation meetings with your team members throughout the year, set SMART KPIs and create a professional development plan for their advancement
  • Delegate work effectively to Executive and Assistants throughout implementation process

Product

  • Assist the Director to collaboratively work with other Maxus teams to develop media solutions and initiatives to deliver the best work
  • Implement the buying strategies and oversee the buying product across all media channels, ensuring that the core principles of the buying process are being applied including analysing and predicting audiences; analysing costs and allocating budget between markets, networks, weeks, dayparts and programme selection
  • Work with the Director to develop the very best implementation recommendation by analysing media/consumer research; defining the target audiences; setting communication goals; calculating planning costs; establishing and managing budget splits; fine tuning budget allocation, weights, phasing, and title/channel/site mix with creation of the media plan
  • Keep abreast of media trends, audiences/readership, prices and opportunities and share knowledge and findings with your direct team and the wider business
  • Support the Director on all client contract negotiations helping to drive results for the client

Commercial

  • Ensure all financial and compliance processes are followed with 100% accuracy
  • Assist in the delivery and monitoring of contract share and expenditure across their portfolio on a monthly basis
  • Ensure the team have clear financial processes in place and assists the Executive to ensure these are implemented

Client

  • Help build on the agency's reputation for outstanding client service. Ensure delivery against client expectations every time – “under promise/over deliver”
  • Get under the skin of the client to understand their needs, wants, expectations – and idiosyncracies
  • Proactively communicate market trends, developments or any changes that will impact any buying performance to the client
  • Lead and manage client WIPs ensuring all relevant campaign and market updates are communicated and actions are managed across the team

What you will need:
 

  • 4+ years’ experience within the media/advertising industry
  • Excellent knowledge of the media marketplace with solid knowledge of all implementation tools (Comms Tracker, Frequency Calculator, MRO, Media Multiplier, Matrix, Roy Morgan, Adex, Move, SMI, Pinergy, ROAMBI and Advantedge (where applicableDeveloping management skills having managed people previously
  • Understanding of all media channels, in particular a thorough understanding of TV planning and buying with the ability to lead the team in this process
  • Strong presentation skills – present with confidence to senior members of the client marketing team
  • Ability to construct a media recommendation (including some strategic thinking plus planning) to a high level of standard
  • Knowledge of when and how to engage specialist divisions in response to brief process
  • Confidence to lead clients and internal teams with some support from Client Lead
