Position at MEC

Job overview:
MEC Analytics division is looking for a Data & Tech Analyst to support a top local Chinese brand in the Beijing office.  You will be responsible for a client’s advertising performance data platform, so that Performance Analyst colleagues have the necessary data for optimizing advertising performance – all with the purpose of using data informed decision making to improve the ROI of advertising.

 

Reporting line:

This role reports to the Data & Tech Associate Director.

Measures of success:

In three months, you would have:

  • Become an active collaborator on the wider analytics and strategy team by attending team trainings and activities
  • Maintained and upgraded an advertising performance data platform to further streamline workflow and provide richer data to Performance Analyst colleagues
  • Will have integrated additional data sources into the data platform that will allow for better analysis of ad performance

In six months, you would have:

  • Become a trusted contributor by your performance analytics colleagues and account team
  • Completed one additional data or reporting automation project to help save your colleagues time
  • Write a point of view piece on a new tool, technology, or vendor that would improve the quality of advertising on the account

 

In 12 months:

  • Developed a performance marketing database and maintenance process for one additional client, to improve overall client satisfaction
  • Performed one other automation project to further streamline MEC data processes
  • Attended trainings on data management, visualization and advanced analytics methodologies 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Become a member of a larger team by attending team trainings/events, communicating and collaborating well with teammates of various expertise
  2. Own the process of data platform development, management, and upgrade
  3. Scale out further data and tech projects to other clients in the office
  4. Keep abreast of new data capture, management, and visualization methods

 

What you will need:

  • Education – a degree in a technical field (i.e. computer science, engineering)
  • Experience – at least 3 to 5 years of experience in database and data integration
  • Attitude – curious, hardworking, takes initiative, enjoys working with others
  • Skills – SQL, SSIS/Datastage/Kettle, Python script (in particular web crawling)
  • Preferred Skills – HTML 5/Bootstrap/Angularjs, experience with advertising company
  • Language – conversational English, fluent to read/write in Mandarin
