Position at MEC

Job overview:
MEC Analytics division is looking for a Performance Analyst to support a top local Chinese brand in the Beijing office.  You will help to build advertising performance databases, update reports and dashboards, and present optimization recommendations to client on a periodic basis – all with the purpose of using data informed decision making to improve the ROI of advertising.

 

Reporting line:

This role reports to the Associate Analytics Director.

Measures of success:

In three months, you would have:

  • Become an active collaborator on the wider analytics and strategy team by attending team trainings and activities
  • Accurately maintained the performance database by acquiring, cleaning and updating reports
  • Report on advertising performance and present optimization recommendations directly to the client to improve ROI

In six months, you would have:

  • Become a trusted contributor by both the client and the account team
  • Further automated tasks to minimize time and errors involved with database management and reporting
  • Write a point of view piece on a new tool, technology, or vendor that would improve the quality of analytics performed on the account

In 12 months:

  • Developed a performance marketing database and maintenance process for one additional client, to improve overall client satisfaction
  • Performed one other automation project to further streamline MEC data processes
  • Attended trainings on data management, visualization and advanced analytics methodologies 

Responsibilities:

  1. Become a member of a larger team by attending team trainings/events, communicating and collaborating well with teammates of various expertise
  2. Own the process of database management, reporting and presentation to the client, to improve ROI on the account
  3. Scale out performance analytics to other clients at MEC
  4. Keep abreast of new data management, visualization, and advanced analytics methods

What you will need:

  • Education – a degree in a quantitative field (i.e. economics, accounting, finance, engineering)
  • Experience – at least 2 years of experience in database, web or digital marketing analytics, less experience needed if holding a Master degree or above.
  • Attitude – likes using numbers, curious, hardworking, enjoys working with others
  • Skills – Excellent Excel skill, SQL/Access, knowledge of data science skills a plus (R, Python, Artificial Intelligence)
  • Communication – good communication skills and comfortable to present
  • Language – working proficiency in English, fluent to read/write in Mandarin
