Overview of job

In this role, you will be responsible for managing clients and provide strategic marketing solutions and offer marketing consulting services to the clients. Focus for this positioning will be on Sports consulting starting from executing evaluation studies for sports including consumer surveys, social media listening, media data analysis

The role would require active engagement with media vendors, sponsoring brands and franchisees and advise them on impact measurement of sponsorships. Job would require analysing multiple data sources and build insights stories for brands.

Measures of success –
In three months:

  • Get an understanding of the Sports Watch and build it further as a unique proposition for IPL 9 and PKL 4

In six months:

  • Identify gaps in the similar offerings available in the market for Sports, and build unique proposition for Sports Watch
  • Analyse potential partner relationships for the product within the Sports & Marketing industry

In 12 months:

  • Become an expert on Sports Marketing
  • Get a full grasp on pricing, agency management, and client relationship management
  • Work as the extended marketing team for the client

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Active client engagement and work as an advisor for Sports associations
  • Developing consumer on competition and market insights using multiple data sources- convert into action points for communication and sponsorship planning
  • Develop expertise in correct and creative use of all GroupM tools and provide direction to the Business Team in using the same
  • Initiate and integrate customized research and all GroupM proprietary research
  • Brand positioning development and Brand Equity management
  • Agency management (Past experience in managing creative, media, BTL agencies, signage execution a must)
  • Developing marketing briefs
  • Preparing Execution and Evaluation reports regularly
  • Rate and Cost Negotiation
  • Interacting with client’s marketing & sales team to get required information as well get execution/operational marketing work done
  • Work as client’s dedicated marketing resource (i.e. Brand manager)

What you will need:

  • Deep passion and understanding for sports
  • Minimum 5 years in marketing and sales experience
  • Quantitative Aptitude & comfortable with numbersand MS Excel
  • Data interpretation & Data visualisation
  • Logical reasoning
  • Basic understanding of consumer research, familiarity to data bases like TGI, BARC, Media planning frameworks
  • Presentation skills
  • Networking and Relationship Skills
  • Willingness to travel when required
