Media Lab | Planning Executive
Description
Media Lab is seeking a Senior Planning Executive to join the team. You will be responsible for assisting the planning team in delivering connected communication strategies that are grounded in consumer insights and which deliver on client objectives.

Measures of success
In three months:
- Understood the client business and the category they play in
- Understood the client’s processes and tools and be assisting with key monthly and quarterly administration tasks
- Delivered competitive updates, both regular reporting and ad hoc proactive updates for clients
- Embedded yourself into the internal team and understood the different specialisms you work with
In six months:
- Built a collaborative relationship with your clients, acting as the lead contact across various portfolios, and supporting the Managers’ relationship with the client.
- Supported your manager to deliver several planning responses, from insight and strategy through to execution
- Project managed cross-media, category and industry leading campaigns
In 12 months:
- Be leading your own accounts autonomously
- Worked closely with GroupM’s other specialisms on at least one project
Responsibilities of the role:
Client Planning and Management
- Build/ maintain strong client relationships through best in class client servicing
- A good understanding of the client category, e.g. market share, purchase barriers, key competitors
- Actively drive the application of consumer learnings and audience understanding in campaign development
Internal Operations Management
- Assist with key monthly and quarterly administration tasks including reporting, competitive, and assisting in invoicing process
- Attend regular WIPs with client and communication partners and assist in delivering the action points
- Maintain a high level of quality control on all outputs to client, meeting all agreed deadlines
What you will need:
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience under their belt, either in a planning role or an investment role with a strong element of client and account management. They should be confident in using industry tools and have a competent understanding of all media channels (including digital) and basic planning principles. They should have a passion for getting under the skin of their client’s products and embrace both data and ideas to deliver planning solutions.
Knowledge and skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience
- Understanding of all media channels
- First class systems knowledge and application, including Roy Morgan & AQX
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
- Competent in all Microsoft office software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
