Dear Education First Human Resources,
Please accept this letter and my resume in application for the Vice President of Marketing
position posted on Linked-In.
I have gained extensive multi-channel marketing and communications experience and
established a proven track record over the last ten years at the Kripalu Center for Yoga &
Health (a non-profit, educational institution) and the Rhode Island School of Design. I
have directed all marketing activity, providing vision and strategic direction, tactical
planning, and overseeing implementation of all off-line (direct mail, print, space
advertising, and public relations) and on-line vehicles (website, e-mail, search, and social
media). At Kripalu my responsibilities included overhauling the organization’s website,
building and nurturing a brand identity, constructing and coaching a diverse team,
approving all content and design, managing outside vendors, supporting/collaborating
with key constituents, and partnering with stakeholders including our Board of Trustees. I
created a stable of reports to monitor key metrics, set up a budgeting and forecasting
tracking system, and implemented many procedures and systems to facilitate the efficient
and effective running of my departments. At RISD I’m responsible for all the marketing
and communication for the Continuing Education Division, where I perform all of the
above.
I believe I bring other important qualities, such as having excellent communication
(written and oral) and project management skills. Being well organized and analytical are
particular strengths, as well as having a collaborative work style, being strategic and
entrepreneurial. I always bring a great deal of positive energy, innovation, and passion to
all my endeavors.
I have my MBA in Marketing, graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
I look forward to discussing this opportunity with you.
Best Regards,
Thomas J. Rocco
